To form or not to form?

Tulsa County's assessor says he shouldn't be required to fill out a form to obtain the audio tape of a meeting of a public body to which he belongs, the Tulsa World reported Monday.

His complaint raises the larger question of whether government agencies in Oklahoma may require such forms to be filled out to request records. And if so, what information can be required of the requester?

Coach proud of players accused of newspaper theft

By JEFF CARLTON, Associated Press Writer

AS (AP)—A college football coach in Texas is backing players accused of removing every copy of a student newspaper from racks around campus because of a front-page article about teammates being arrested on drug charges, according to a police report.

Contract Awarded for Repairs to Bridge and Approaches in Grant County

A contract was awarded recently for repairs to bridge and approaches in Grant County, Sen. David Myers and Rep. Dale DeWitt recently announced.

Children's Moment

What is your favorite kind of fruit? I like bananas. They are probably my favorite fruit.

When I was little, we had lots of fruit trees in our back yard. My parents grew green apples, apricots and cherries. We had a big cherry tree in the back yard, and every year, right around my birthday, the cherries would be ripe and ready to pick.

How The House lives at our house

“O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise.” - Psalm 51:15

During youth group Sunday, we talked about the spiritual gifts afforded to us and outlined in 1 Corinthians 12:8-10.

One of those gifts is prophecy. Most of the kids agreed the gift of prophecy exists … just maybe not in Medford. It was quite a conversation.

I was the judge of that

Just finished judging entries for the North Dakota Newspaper Association. The categories sent to me were government reporting series, reporting series and feature reporting. The features category covered my dining room table. With 25 entries, most having the allowed three-story maximum, I read nearly 75 stories all together! Yes, I am nearly blind.
